A visit to the Goodwins

We have been wanting to visit Uncle Bill and Aunt Ruby for a while. They are actually my Dad's aunt and uncle, making them my great aunt and uncle, and making them Jared and Jacob's great, great aunt and uncle.  Did you get all that?   Anyway, I always loved visiting them as a child.  It was so fun when we were there to have ALL the family over and play with ALL my cousins ... I just love the way you can go to their house and everything stays the same ... the same tables in the kitchen ... the living room arranged the same way ... how refreshing in a world that changes constantly.

An Unexpected Praise ...

As we were traveling there, Jared was in the very back reading his book and I joined him just to keep Jacob occupied while we were traveling.  We were on the interstate when all of a sudden the window on Jared's side imploded shattering glass all over him and some on me.  It was a good thing I was back there because I grabbed Jared as soon as the loud "pop" sound happened and tucked his face in my arms.  We don't really know what happened.  Was it a rock that hit the window?  Was it a problem with the frame being fixed on the van?  We are not sure, but we are so very thankful that Jared was not hurt (one little tiny scratch) and David didn't get in an accident as a result.  Thank you Lord.

Susie happened to be there and I was so excited to see her! 

I haven't seen her in too many years ... She loved squeezing on the baby :))
